For about a month, the temperature never cleared the freezing mark, and it spent a lot of the time well below ten degrees. School was cancelled for two days, not because of snow, but because it was too cold!
A "golden birthday," he was proud to announce to everyone - he turned seven on the seventh!
Doing his very, very best to turn the world inside out and upside down, Dave's friend, photographer John Myers (kneeling next to Dave), invited Dave to model for him - professionally!
Dave was selected by a client who needed "an average-looking 40-year-old male with a blank stare." Emily has been quick to remind him of this when his head gets too big.
Of course, now we have this photo to help keep his ego in check. Dave is quick to point out that "it takes a village to make me look so bad."
A couple small examples of doing good here. Mikey's first grade class has "Senior Friends Day" every Tuesday. Willing senior citizens come into his classroom and work and play with the kids. It's probably good for both groups. And Dave and Mikey "bonded" getting ready for Mikey's Cub Scout Pinewood Derby.
Meghan actually WAS doing things this month - quite a bit actually, which is why she's not seen much here. A highlight of her winter was a school project in which she redesigned the layout of the bedroom she shares with Emily, giving them both more space. Only a coincidence that their beds are five times farther apart now than before. Right Meghan? Right?
